The late Mr. D. Hughes was noted as a Shorthorn breeder, and during the past 49 years this is the first sale of dairy cows this dairy has had. Lovers of the best type of Shorthorn dairy cows can be recommended to attend this sale, as the cows are as good as any in the Dominion, and all are in calf to bulls bred by Mr. Taylor, of Te Awamutu, from stock imported from England. All the yearlings are by the same bulls, and as the estate is going out of dairying completely this is a genuine clearing sale of a magnificent herd of dairy Shorthorn*. -
