SOLDIERS' CLUB TOURNAMENTS. ■ A billiard tournament at the Soldiers' Club, for a gold medal presented by Mr. W. Roberts, jeweller, was completed the other evening after soma very interesting games and close finishes. There were 25 competitors, and the final lay between Sergeant E. Hine, who took part in the Gallipoli campaign, and Mr. R. Indar, the former starting at scratch in a game of 100 up, and the latter being handicapped at 35 behind. The game was watched by a large number of keenly interested spectators, and at the close, when the scores stood at 99 all, there was no small amount of excitement. Sergeant Hine then made the winning stroke, and was declared victor of the tournament A snooker tournament is now in progress, and promises to be equally interesting. The firßt round, in which some capital games were witnessed, has jmt been completed.
