FRIENDLY SOCIETIES' HOSPITAL ASSOCIATION.
ANNUAL MEETING. The eighth annual meeting of the Taranaki United Friendly Societies' Hospital Association was held in the Foresters' Hall, Stratford, on Thursday. The president, Bro. C. D. Sole, was in the chair, and about 20 representatives were present. It was resolved that the executive's report, auditor's report and balancesheet as read be adopted. A resolution was passed: "That the £3O is the full limit pavable by the Association in any twelve months." the time to start from the member's admission to the hospital for anv member of the Association, and that a" copy of the resolution be forwarded to the local hospital boards. A new rule was made to the effect that a member's wife, or widow of deceased number, be allowed to pay full hospital contributions and receive the benefits.
The election of officers for the ensuin" twelve months resulted: President, Bro. A. J. Tunbridge, New Plymouth', vice president, Bro. A. J. Coldwell, InMewood; executive, Bro. W. S. Gilbert, F. Brabant. C. D. Sole, and G. Lamb; secretary and treasurer. Bro. H. R. Cattley, New Plymouth; auditor, Bro. R. Pepperell, New Plymouth. A deal of routine business was discussed and settled satisfactorily and the usual votes of thanks .were passed to retiring officer for their untiring attention in the association's interests, also a hearty vote of thanks to the Stratford Lodge of Foresters for the use of the liall°for the meeting. The balanco sheet showed contributions as £1422 17s Od, payments to hospitals £1305 17s Od, while unpaid hospital accounts totalled £214 Is, leaving a debit balance of £2OO 7s 9d.
