An important sale will be held at Puniho on August 16, when Mr. Newton King will sell by auction Mr. Fred Cowling's herd of pedigree, registered and grade Shorthorn cattle. The herd is headed by that good old bull Baron Cornwell, bred by the New Zealand Government at the Weraroa experimental farm. His dam, Swee:. Briar, had a record of 4251bs butterfat in the season. There are a considerable number of young cattle to be sold, and it might suit fanciers of this breed to wait for thin sale if they wish to procure first-class cattle.
