ANOTHER AIR RAID.
LARGE ENEMY SQUADRON OVER EAST COAST. 11 KILLED, 2G WOUNDED. Alls, and N.Z. Cable Assoc. and Reuter. Received July -23, 5.5 p.m. London, July 22. Official: A squadron of 'between fifteen and twenty-one aeroplanes approached Felixtowe and Harwich at 8 o'clock in the morning and dropped bombs. Heavy anti-aircraft fire caused the formation to split, part returning overseas and part proceeding to the southward of the Essex coast. Being constantly engaged by gunfire they proceeded homeward without dropping more bombs.. Our aeroplanes purseud the raiders out to sea, heavily engaging thorn, but the visibility was low and observation difficult. Eight persons were killed and twenty-five injured at Felixtowe and I Harwich.
ONE RAIDER BROUGHT DOWN. Aus. and N.Z. Cable Assoc. and Reuter. Received July 23, 8.50 p,m. London, July 22. The Press Bureau states: The air raid casualties totalled eleven killed and twenty-six wounded. The damage was insignificant. The Flying Corps engaged the raiders returning to Belgium and brought down one in the sea.
