BLUE CROSS FUND.

To the Editor. Sir,—We as a club are trying to collect money for the above fund. There are many people who do not know what the fund stands for and for the benefit of your readers we offer the following information. The Blue Cross Fund is a fuiid to aid our dumb heroes of the war —the war horse. It goes to the very heart of things. It provides, at its many horse hospitals on all the lighting fronts, every surgical necessity and everything to alleviate suffering. Horses of all nationalities are assisted, and many hundreds of the poor animals, wouraied and war worn have had their sufferings assuaged by this worthy fund. All 0111(11 horses are humanely destroyed. Times are hard and purees light., 'but here is an object truly worthy of your i charity. If you could see for yourself the work being done amongst wounded horses; if you could see the dumb grati- ' tude expressed in many a limpid eye and hear the geutle whinny of thanks, as cruel wounds are tenderly dressed by loving hands, there would be no need to ask "Are you in this"? Come, help the helpless. Your donation may mean much to a horse in pain. Patients are many and accommodation often overtaxed. More medicines, dressings and the thousand and one necessaries for the comfort of the horses are wanted at once. —I am. etc., W. D. ROSS. Hon. Sec. Overseas Club, Eltham Branch. I
