NIATME SICKNESS. " Eeuter Service. London, July 20. In the House of Commons, Mr. Molteno asked about the causes of the sickness and casualties among the native carriers in East Africa, which, it was stated, reached a monthly average of ten to fifteen per thousand. Mr. Macpherson replied that the causes were principally malaria, pneumonia, cerebrospinal fever and dysentry. Fifty-two medical men had been posted to temporary hospitals, and additional help from South Africa was being obtained.
