THE SUBMARINE CAMPAIGN.
FOUR OF LATEST AND LARGEST u-boats destroyed. Received July 17. 0.30 p.m. Rome, July 10. A Report from a German source admits the warships convoying the first American troops destroyed four of the largest and latest submarines in the Atlantic. GERMAN TORPEDO SUPPLY WEAKENING. Washington. July IC. The Navy League made a statement that in the opinion of experts Germany's torpedo supply is weakening The reports of numerous ships successfully dodging torpedoes indicate deterioration in the speed and accuracy of missiles. AN ANTI-SUBMARINE MINE. New York, July 10. The New York Times Baltimore correspondent has learned that the electrical expert at the John Hopkins University has perfected a new style of mine controlled by means of wireless wave?, enabling a submarine to destroy U boats while both are submerged. The perfection of the device is such that it has located submerged boats. AMERICAN STEAMER TORPEDOED. Washington, July 10. The State Department announces that the American steamer Grace has been torpedoed. Three men were killed.
