COOPEKS' SEEDS—"THE SEEDS OP SUCCESS." At the Winter Show, held at Hawera, the firm of F. Cooper, lAi-, of Wellington, Blenheim, Christcluirch, etc., hail a magnificent display of the produce of Cooiper's Seeds. A feature of the display is the -wonderfully fine assortment of splendid {specimens of practically all the principal vegetables, and also turnips, swedes, mangels, lucerne, Sudan grass and all the principal farm crops. Referring to Messrs. Cooper's exhiWt at the recent Palmcrston Winter Show, the Evening Post says: "For many years past Messrs Cooper's have demonstrated that New Zealand grown seed is far aud away superior to the imported article. It is fresher and of stronger germinating powdf, and being thoroughly acclimatised, is more suited to the New Zealand climatic conditions than imported seeds can 'he. On the firm's stand were to be seen beautiful specimens of Cooper's Long Red Mangel and Cooper's Jersey Queen, unquestionably the best in the Show. On the Government stand in the same hall was to be seen a big display of roots grown from Cooper's Seeds, and compared with tho3e from other firms' and imported strains the specimens trom Cooper's seeds are miles ahead" The leading prize takers at this show in the vegetable root classes were Mt. T. Palmerston (who secured 29 prizes). Mr. A. iPassey, Polvangina, Mr. W. Webb, Hastings, and Mr. Woolford, Kongo tea. All these growers used Cooper's Seeds almost exclusively. A numfoer of the othfer leading prizetakevs were also successful with the produce of Seeds. In the Government trials reported in the Journal of Agriculture, Augu&t 21, 'M'O, mangels grown from Cooper's specially selected seeds cropoed 71 tons per acre aud 'beat all other competitors. The extent of the business of this firm may foe gauged by the tact that they require to sow each season in New Zealand alone over 3000 acres of land exclusively for seed purposes.
