A STATE DEFICIT. Perth, July 14. The revenue returns show a deficit for the year of £69,749. The accumulated deficit amounts to £2,063,714. A NBW MINISTRY. Adelaide, July 14. Mr. Peake has formed a Ministry as follows:—Mr. Peake, Premier and Chief Secretary. Mr. Butler, Treasurer and Minister of Railways. Mr. Banvell, Attorney-General and Minister of Industry. Mr. Hitchie, Commissioner of Crown Lands and Minister of Immigration and Agriculture; Mr. Gordon. Minister of Education and Repatriation, Vice-Commissioner of Public Works, Minister of Marine and Mines. DETENTION OF AUSTRALIANS IX NEW ZEALAND. ' Melbourne, July 14. The Meat Industries Employees' Union is protesting to the Federal Government against the alleged detention of members in New Zealand under the conscription law. It is stated that several members who outstayed the period allowed for visitors Were detained and one or two conscripted. It was decided if the detention is persisted in, to discountenance slaughtermen leaving for New Zealand.
