«e»— i. A SOLDIERS DEATH. By Telegraph—Press Association Wellington, Thursday. The defence authorities advise that Patrick O'Connor Marshall, a returned undischarged soldier, died at the Victoria Military Hospital, Wellington, this morning. Deceased left with the Bth Reinforcements, and returned to New Zealand on 'Hay ill. His next of kin resides in Wellington. ; • A BOY KILLED. Nelson, July 12. A lad named Basil Tucker, about 14 years of age, a pupil at the Nelson College, while atempting to hoard a moving train this afternoon, was thrown under the wheels and instantly killed. The Ix>dy was shockingly mutilated. The lad's parents reside at Richmond.
