The Admiralty reports: Naval aeroplanes yesternight carried out raids with the military objectives of Ghistelles and Varssenaearo, and a railway dump, causing heavy explosions and an intense conflagration. They attacked with gunfire the railway siding at Zirren, and bombed a train at St. Denis, Westrem. They also bombed the Ostend railway lines and electric power station, and caused a fire near the latter. Several tons of bombs were dropped. All the machines returned safely. BRITISH RETAIN MASTERY. French commentators state that the Germans' most powerful attack at Nieuport succeeded, the first shock giving a local advantage, but only temporarily, as the British shortly returned the offensive and obtained full mastery of the coastal regions. GOOD AEKJAL WORK. Received July 11, 1.55 a.m. London, July 13. % ' Sir Douglas Haig reports: We drove off raiders westward of Queant, taking some prisoners. Great aerial activity was evident yesterday, a large number of bombs being dropped on enemy aerodromes and ammunition dumips. We carried out eight other successful Taids and brought down four German acreplanes, besides driving down six. Three of ours are missing.
