' The Daily Chronicle's Petrograd correspondent says the famous Halicz bridgehead face's eastward, but its efficacy was completely neutralised by General Korniloff's unexpected assault from the smith-west. Korniloff's advance wedging into the territory between the Dneister and the Carpathians menaces the whole of General Boehmer's arrmer, whose north-eastern sector ri«ka being outflanked. „. The large numbers of Cechs and Slovaks taken prisoner seems to show that the inner crisis in Austria is laving an effect at the front.
