BABY ELLIS LEADING. The baby voting contest, whieh. Jim been proceeding very animatedly durinr the past fortnight, was concluded last night at 10.30, when -the boxes were sealed,, and the count will take place to-day, the final result being published in Monday?s News,' Up to 4 p.m. yesterday 122,823 votes had been recorded, realising in all £sll 6s> lid, or an averag« of £7 12s per baby. Yesterday's count showed a considerable change in the positions, and a large increase in votes, but there is certain to b'; an alteration when the final count. disclosed. Baby Ellis increased its total by 6185 votes, and jumps from fifth to first place, with 15,356. Baby .Granville, with an increase of 2400, retains second olace, while the leader. Baby Blackley, drops to third position. Baby Honan, with 2500 a4ded voteß, retains fourth place whilst the Okato baby onlv added. 10, and drops two places to fifth.
