He had also received word that the Board of Trade intended to take the whole of next season's output of cheese. The names of the ships are not publishable, but one may say without in-' fringing the war regulations that the list includes some big traders that Jjad been withdrawn temporarily from the New Zealand trade. The provision of additional snips seems to hare been the direct outcome of the representations made by Mr. Massey and Sir Joseph Ward, The fact that ten of rthe steamers are to reach New Zealand waters during the month of September indicates that the shipping authorities hare made a special effort to meet the Dominion's needs. The arrangement may haye }*een influenced to same extent by the fact i that the activities of the submarines in the northern hemisphere will he ,reduced now by the lengthening nighty.
