WELLINGTON SESSIONS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. At the Supremo Court, the Chief Justice sentenced George Cooke, who had pleaded guilty to Ave charges involving 3-t .jeparate offences for breaking, entering and theft, to two years' imprisonment on the first charge, one year on the second, nine months on the third, and six months on each of the other two, the terms to be cumulative, the sentence thus being four years and nine months. Sir Robert Stout ordered Cooke to be brought before him to-morrow to show cause why he should not be sentenced on the previous charges on which he had been ordered to come up for sentence when called upon. Thomas Jones Campbell, convicted on two charges of false pretences at Napier, was sentenced to six months imprisonment on each charge, tlr) •eolwMu to- be cumulative.
