AUSTRALIAN TURF. V.R.O. GRAND NATIONAL. Australian-N.Z. Cable Association. Received July 8, 6.5 p.m. Melbourne, July S. At the V.R.C. Grand National meeting, the Grand National Hurdles resulted:— Merunqua 1, Bundong 2, Lord Grey 3. All acceptors started. Fastolf, Obi, Gold Waves, Manata and Pistolitier fell, while Volumen and Thaletas lost their riders. McNaught made practically all the running, and led to the straight, where Mfirunqua, brilliantly ridden by Cairns, overhauled the leaders, and in the greatest race ever seen in the Hurdles beat Bundong by a head. Time, smin 47 1-4 sec.
