Tlie Labor Congress resolved that the only National Eflicicncy Board that can safeguard Labor interests is a board composed of Labor representatives, elected from Laibor organisations. In response to a letter from the Efficiency Board regarding the sending of a deputation to interview the Board, if, was resolved that as Laibor was not represented and was having no say in the establishment of the board., the conference states that Labor interests will be best protected by remaining away from tlio board. INCREASED PAY FOR EMPLOYEES. Christ-church, July '4. The Lyttelton Harbor Board: passed a resolution to increase the salaries of the harbormaster, pilots, masters and engineers by 10 per cent. A similar increase will be-granted to all . employees receiving £IOO or less, and all who last year received the 10 -per cent, bonus now have the amount added permanently to their wages.
