THE EMPIRE.
"THE MAN WITHOUT A SOUL " A iSOTERIB LONDON FILM. The cold unbelief of a clever scientist is the foundation of the plot of "The 'Man Without a Soul,'' the sensational London Film drama screening at the Empire for the .first time to-night. The first part of the story deals with the conflict which rages in the village between the opinions of the saintly vicar and his following and the atheistical notions held 'by a strong society which has many adherents. The. hero, Stephen Ferrier, becomes enamoured of scientific research, but olwing to an accident in the laboratory, a violent electric shock renders him lifeless. The scientist shcoks the lifeless clay into life and movement, but the results are appalling. The ending of the story is a welcome surprise. Milton Bosmer is a likable and handsome hero and his acting is wonderfully free from staginess. Edna Plugrath is a dainty heroine, and her acting in the emotional scenes ig as good as ever. The play is lavish, and must have cost a huge sum to produce. The picture is in seven reels and gripping!}' interesting.
