FOOTBALL.
WAIMATE DEFEAT TECHNICAL COLLEGE. Weather conditions were not favorable for the match which (was -played <"ft Uawera yesterday between Waimate •Tuniora and New Plymouth Technical College. There was only a moderate attendance. The teams were as follow: Waimate: L. Hughes.. 'Roberts. J. McCarthy, P. Hiekey, M. Lynskey, Klenner, Ogilvie, K. McLeod, R. Fergusson, 'F. Claque. IS. Winters, F.. 'Bowie, J. Adamson. Wright, and H. Hughes. Technical College: Therkleson, Burn, C. Riiru, Oliver, Pennell, 'Fenwiek,'Burke, Fuller, Richards, Feakins, Skelton, Mackay, Allen, iPenman, and Oliver. ■Waimate opened and pressed strongly throughout. The defence of the College was good, hchvever, and the Wai-! mate team, who were heavier and contained a sprinkling of older youths, could score twice, Tlickev and 0. Roberts getting over as the result of fine passing bouts, one of which Fergiissoi* converted. The plainsmen pressed hard, passing weM, font the College always cleared their lines, and the spelil ended: Waimate S, Technical College nil. * With the advantage of the wind it was generally expected that the College would win comfortaiblv, 'but the lads failed to play up to expectations, whilst Waimate tackled well and, though forced several times, 'kept their line intact. College had all the better of the spell, Ibut both back and forwards failed to press home their advantage. Olives had several shots from free kicks, one of which he piloted over the bar as the result of a great kick. Mr. W. Cleaver rcfereed. WAIMATE v. HIGH SCHOOL. On Saturday, Waimate will meet Xew Plymouth High School at Hawera. When these two teams met at New Plymouth three (weeks ago a great game resulted in a draw, so that a good contest can be confidently looked forward to. The folWwing will represent Now iPlymouth Rovers in their match against Technical College on the Recreation Grounds to-morrow (Thursday), at 2 p.m. sharp:—Prior, Singh. CIHT, Loveridge, P.
