AUSTRALIAN NEWS.

WOOL RETURNS. Australian- Gable- Association Received July 3, 6.30 p.m. Melbourne, July 3. An order is being issued requiring the returns to be finished of all unapprised stocks of greasy, washed and scoured wool, STUD SHEEP SALES. Received July 3, 10.55 p.m. Sydney, July 3. At the stud sheep sales the demand for Merinos was firm, and was steadily maintained. No fancy figures were recorded, though the rates were materially better than those of last year. There is an exceedingly keen demand for British breeds at record prices. New Zealand lots of Borders and Leiccsters, on behalf of Messrs Dowthwaite, Nixon, Rennie and Sutherland, ranged from five to fifty guineas. Corriedales on behalf of Mr. j Ensor made from nine to 72% guineas.
