AMAZING STUNTS B¥ DOUG. (RAIRBANKS IN "THE AMERICANO." Douglas Fairbanks, the tornado of the screen, as lie has "been well named, puts up his best work in "The Americano," a splendid Triangle romance of Patagonia, a small South American republic, screened for the first time at the Empire last night. A revolution has taken place and a thieving, unprincipled soldier is temporarily on top of the situation. Doug, with the aid of the most astounding athletic stunts, and amazing presence of mind, outwits and overcomes the villain of the piece, annexing as well the rightful President's pretty daughter. Th scenery of the play is uniquely beautiful, the tropical gardens and open air cafes being almost extravagantly ipretty. The drama has more iplot than any of Douglas Fairbanks' previous efforts and is confidently listed as his (best yet. Billie Burke is also on the bill. Her latest serial instalment is entitled "The Fugitive Witness," which is quite up to (previous episodes.
