The first reports were taken to indicate that she .was a P. and 0. steamer, but Renter states the Himalaya belonged to the Messageries Maritimes and was chartered by the Government. It- is now generally accepted that the calble refers to a French, boat of that name. SINKING OF THE KLBBEK. I Paris, July 1. The cruiser Klelber was sunk by a mine near IBrcst. She -was voyaging from Dakar to Brest for the purpose of being dismantled. The captain refused to leave the bridge when she was sinking, and the bugler, after sounding the order to launch the boats, declared he would stand by the captain. Both perished. (The Ivleber was a cruiser of 7700 tons, 'built in 1804, armed with eight 0.-lin. and four 4in. guns, and having a speed of 21 knots.),
