TROOPS SENT TO CLARE. A CATHOLIC MANIFESTO. United Service. London, June 30. Received July 1, 5.5 p.m. Five hundred infantry, with machineguns, have been sent to East Clare as a precautionary measure during the elections. A manifesto was issued by Cardinal Logue and the Catholic Hierarchy urging tho cletgy to exhort'the people to beware of dangerous associations, to shun movements not according with Catholic teaching and doctrine, and condemning all organisation plotting against the Church or constituted authority; also reminding priests that they were forbidden to talk politics or kindred subjects in the churches.
