J)IVISION J^EAGUE. i ___ ITS AIMS AND OBJECTS. l : lank I.—The League heartily cooperates with the Government to maintain reinforcement* and win the war. Plank 2.—The League is non-party. Plank 3—Pensions on disablement of soldiers to follow the British leheme; according to injury and disablement, and not left to the discretion of a Pensions Board. Plank 4.—The League is endeavoring to secure adequate pensions and allowances for all wive 3 and dependents. (The present scales are pitifully inadequate and compare very unfavorably with those prevailing in England). Plank s.—The medical examination to be the deciding factor as to the liability of the State. The League aims at bringing home to the authorities and the public the necessity, in the interests of the community, of adopting a policy of generosity to the dependents of those who, by their sacrifices, are maintaining the existence of the State, and views with gTave concern the indications of a policy of State parsimony. The League believes the time has come nlien the Government should completely review the question of separation allowances and pensions, so that those who may be called on to make the great laerifioe of giving up husband and father ah all not also lie condemned to comparative penury and v.-ant. The League holds that those who remain behind in their ordinary avocation, for whatever reason, should be called upon universally by legislation to make such financial sacrifice as will meet the needs of the dependents of those who arc called upon to face the supreme sacrifice.
