I j MONTHLY MEETING. The ordinary meeting of the Taranaki Land Board was held yesterday. Present: Mr. G. H. Bullard (Commissioner, in the chair), Messrs C. J. Ryan, Jno. Heslop, J. W. H. Martin, and N. R. Cleland. APPLICATIONS FOR. T.AiKf) The following applications were approved:—Section IS, Block IV, Ngatimaru, 183 acres, J. V. Siddall, under Discharged Soldiers' Settlement Act. Section 32, Block 111, Waimate. 90a. Or 20p., J. J. Patterson, at annual rent of £l5O for twelve months, subject to upkeep of existing improvements, and terminable at three months' notice if land required. Part Section 534, Block XI, Hftwera, 53a. 2r. 32p., Neil Anderson, at an annua) rent of £47, for twelve months. Part Section 11, Eltliam-Opunake Railway Reserve, sa. 3r. Op., Thomas Whyte, yearly lease terminable at three months' notice, rent 7s per acre. Section 17, EltliamOpunake Railway Reserve, 17a. Sr., Win. Duggan; yearly lease, usual terms, rent 12s per acre. The following applications for the fee simple were approved.—Section 2. Block XVI, Oliura S.D., 41»a., C. J. Bleasel. Section 1, Block X, Torotoro S.D., 133 a., Annie Dollimore. DEFAULTERS. Tenants who had been called upon to show cause were dealt with as follow: Section G, Block 11, Rangi, six months extension of time for improvements was granted. Section d'l, 'Block I, Rangi, nonresidence ; adjourned for Crown Land Ranger's report. Sections 392 and 418, New Plymouth (non-payment of rent); lease to be determined. Section 7, Block 11, Rangi (non-improvement); selector to show cause why forfeiture should not be decreed. Section 111, Block XVI, Ohura (deficient improvements); granted twelve months' extension. Section 2, Block 111, Piopiotea West (deficient improvements); granted twelve months' extension. Section 35, Block 11, Piopiotea West) (non-residence); granted twelve months' extension. TRANSFERS AND SUB-LEASES. Proposals for expenditure of accrued thirds were approved as follow:—Stratford County Council, £42 Is lOd; Wairoa Road Board, £ls 0s 6d (subject to ranger's certificate). A. C. Maxwell, lessee of Section 3S, Tututa : wa Settlement, was granted 12 months' exemtion from residence. Messrs D, McLaren and J; R. Scorrar, Section 1, Block XIII, Mapara, were granted twelve months' exemption from personal residence. Resolved to set aside Lot 19, Section 16, Ohura, 5 acres, as a school site; Lot 22 as a scenic reserve; and to submit Lots 20 and 21 for sale (by public auction at the price of £lO eafch. Resolved to re-open Section 19, Block VII, Omona, for a term of 21 years, under section 5 (g.) of the Public Bodies' Leases Act," lfl«S, and the Education Reserves Act, at a rental of 5 per cent, based on a capital value of 30s per acre, without special loading for improvements. Consent was given to L. L. Langridge. lessee of Sections 8011/8, 818, and parts 817 and 821, New Plymoutii, la. 2r. 29p., to subdivide the land and have three separate leases issued. C. A. Duffy, lessee of Section 5, Block IV, Ka-para, was granted twelve months' exemption from residence. It was resolved to open Section 31, Block I, town of Matioro, 86p. ; and Section IS, Block 11, village of Tatu, lr. 14p., for leasing for terms of 2:1 years, at the annual rental suggested by the ranger. It was resolved, to open Section 1, Block. IT, P,ar,?i, 320 a,, under Sec. 4 of the Discharged Soldiers' Settlement Act, I 1015. at a capital value of 50s per acre. ' W. T. Shields. Section 8, Block X, Tangitu, was granted exemption from residence until October, 19*17.
