t BUTTER v. CHEESE. Suppliers and shareholders of the .Stratford Farmers' Co-operative Association Ltd, are reminded by advertisement on page 1 that an extraordinary general meeting will be held at the Parish Hall, Began street, on Saturday at 1.30 p.m. The business to be discussed is the advisability or otherwise of manufacturing cheese. The Midhirst Company recently held a meeting on the same question, and probably the reasons that led to Midhirst deciding to abandon hutter in favor of cheese will be reViewed by the chairman, Mr. Dingle, and others. The question is a vital one, for to introduce cheese and a dual plant means a heavy expenditure, whilst to manufacture butter and see it held up in storage owing to lack of shipping means a problem that has to be faced! The directors are particularly desirous that there shall be a full attendance so that whatever action mav follow the directors will know that it has been fully and freely discussed by the company before going to the vote. The meeting promises to be one of the most important in the history of the company, and the decision will be watched with interest by other dairy companies. SOCIAL POSTPONED.
