MEETING OP LOCAL TRUSTEES. A meeting of the New-' Plymouth Trustees under the Efficiency. Board was held on Friday afternoon, Mr. T. Furlong presiding. The secretary (Mr. F. J. Hill) reported that he had personally called on 330 business people and others coming under the town and industries section, and 224 had returned cards with the information sought for. He had now completed a register, which would be retained by the board, showing the number of employees in every industry, business and trade, together with all the information wanted by the Efficiency Board in Wellington.' Efficiency Board, Wellington, re labor required on farms, was considered, and the local board decided to co-operate witli the other trustees in the district in giving effect to the suggestions contained therein, and also, as suggested, to make the necessary inquiries from the heads of local schools as to tlift number of youths available for the next season. A soldier of the First Division called up for active service wrote to the board enclosing a statement of his -financial position and liabilities, and asked for the board's advice and assistance. Having been called to the colors, his plan? had been dislocated, and he would be glad for the board to help him to solve the position.—lt was decided that the hoard would render what assistance they could.
