HUNTING.

On Thursday the members of the North Taranaki Hunt met at Mr. A. Budge's farm, Inglewood, and had a most enjoyable afternoon's sport. A large crowd of huntsmen and spectators journeyed out, in spite of the threatening elements, and were well rewarded for their enterprise. Shortly after 1 p.m. the hounds were thrown off, and were not long in finding a very strong hare that made off over the hill at the hack of the house, and then around Mr. Coldwcll's property, where it found cover. Throughout this run there was a splendid - exhibition of jumping, the fences being stiff and not sparred. Coming back on to Mr. Budge's another l(are was soon found, which made off straight to the other end of the farm to som& bush, where, for a time, it found cover. However, tin hounds ; working splendidly, soon had it out again, when it made off across country past the homestead at the back of the farm, where it was lost. By this time the afternoon was drawfJic on, and at the invitation of Mr. and Mrs. Budge the large following adjourned to the homestead, where they were hospitably entertained to afternoon tea. Mr. B. H.' Chancy, deputy master, thanked Mr. and Mrs. Budge for their hospitality, and the surrounding farmers for allowing their country to he hunted over, and after three hearty cheers were given the company dispersed homeward, well pleased with the sport.
