THE STRANDED BARQUE. By Telegraph*—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night.' A further examination of the hull of the barque which was stranded on Monday night at the Wellington Heads, revealed that the damage was more extensive than was anticipated. A small hole has been discovered, besides rmiuh denting, and it is expected it will take ten days or mow to complete the unloading of the cargo, preparatory to the ship going on the patent slip. An inquiry will be held regarding the stranding as soon as the examination is finished. TROUBLE WITH FIREMEN. Wellington, Last Night. The Blackball Company's Ngakuta has been held up for some days owing to trouble with the firemen. The old fljemen refuse to sign on because the owners will not remove a certain member of the crew, with whom they do not agree, find no other firemen will sign on, although some are available. It is expected that some arrangement will be arrived at in a day or two. MOTOR GARAGE UNION OP EMPLOYERS. Palmerston N., Last Night. A conference of motor garage proprietors to-day decided to form an association for the whole motor trade of the Dominion. Mr. John Bett, of Palmerston North, was appointed first president, and fifteen members, representing the different districts of the Dominion, were appointed a council to conduct the ■' association's business. A hundred and thirty firms joined. Representatives were present from Dunedin, Invercargill, Christchurch, Timaru and Auckland.
