FITZROY BOWLING CLUB.

> ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the above club was held in the pavilion, Fitzrov, last evening. There was a. very good attendance, over whom Mr. F. C. Bellringer presided. REPORT AND BALANCE-SHEET. The report and balance-sheet was read and received. Receipts totalled £l4B 3s 4d, including subscriptions £lOl 10s, afternoon teas £lB 4s Bd, donations £7 16s fld. The expenditure was £145 3s lid, the chief items being wages £6O 18s, interest £43 16s, balance, in bank £l2 7s fid. The annual report congratulated the members on the club having had a most successful season. The bowlers' Wounded Soldiers' Fund had received £1) Is lOd, and a further sum of £9 16s had been paid as entrance fees for Banner matches. The club had acted as runnerup in the Taranaki tournament. Two rinks had competed at the PaJmerston North tournament, and Messrs Jury, Dingle, Eennell and Abbott worthily upheld the club, winning 6 games and losing 2., Appreciation was expressed to those members who had bv voluntary contributions and labor added to the improvements of the pavilion and green. The committee would not neglect to have an early preparation to have the green ready, so that nothing may be wanting in this respect. A winter green Was now available, which, no doubt, will be taken advantage of during the next few months. The final for the club championship wa- played between Messrs Eennell and Smith, the former winning. During the year the club sustained a loss of a valued member in Mr. Geo. White. Messrs Reed and Beadle, members of the club, were new at the front. The Croquet Club had provided interesting play for the ladies, and a large Increase in membership} is anticipated next season. Thanks were expressed to the press and others for assistance during tile year. Messrs Smith and Rennell thought members should do what they could to wipe out the liabilities. JTome discussion ensued on "ffie Bennett watch competition, and it was resolved that it be extended till the end of the season, and that each member of the club be requested to take a book of tickets. Messrs Healey and Rennell thought the watch should be confined to the club. Mr. Gibson brought up the question of afternoon tea, and after some discussion it was decided, on his motion, that it be a reoemmendation to the committee to place the afternoon tea arrangements in the bands of the ladies of Fitzroy, ELECTION OF OFFICERS. The following,officers were then elected:—President, Mr. S. .T. Smith; vicepresidents, Messrs J. Healey, E. Dingle, J. McNeil, and J. Bennett; secretary, Mr. A. F. Brookcr; general committee, Messrs IT. J. Price. J. Healey,' P. Jury, J Roberts, E. Dingle; auditor, Mr. Rcnnel; green warden, Mr. H. J. Price; croquet warden, Mr. Jury; delegates to Taranaki Centre, Messrs Smith and Jackson; sole selector, Mr. E. Dingle, with Messrs Chivers and Price as assistants. Mr. S. J. Smith, in returning thanks. sketched the history of the club and thought that it owed its thanks to the loyal support accorded by all. After some discussion on the question of membership fees, Mr. Rennell moved that the fee be £3 3s.—Lost. Mr. Healey moved that the fee be as usual.—Carried. GENERAL. Mr. Bellringer's resignation was accepted with regret. Mr. Bellringer stated he could not reconsider his decision, mucb as he regretted taking the step.
