A VESSEL DAMAGED. ■ Uy Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The bull of the.barque stranded At Wellington Heads on Monday night has been undergoing examination by a diver during the last twb days, and it has been found that the damage will prevent the vessel from sailing to another port. Therefore all the cargo has been disI charged here, and the barque taken to the patent slip. The vessel is 800 tons larger than any vessel previously taken *n the slip, but it is believed she can be accommodated, though it may mean that the Queen's Drive may be blocked at that point. COAL MINERS' GRIEVANCES. Wellington, Last Night. Representatives of the Coal Miners' Federation interviewed the Acting Prime Minister to-day. One request was for a renewal of exemption from military duty withdrawn from certain miners who went on strike. Sir James Allen told the delegates that they must remain in the industry. The delegates also mentioned a grievance about the difficulty of settling local disputes. There was too much delay at; present. They brought an Australian miner, who told, the Minister'of the methods adopted in Australia, where a hbard, consisting of a judge and two assessors, heard and determined disputes. Sir James Allen promised to submit a request to the Minister of Labor and the Minister of Mines. PALMERSTON SHOW HUNTING COMPETITION. Palmerston N., Last Night. At the hunters' competition, Mrs. D.
