THE AVAILABLE MEN. ' Ottawa, June 19. Speaking in the debate on the second reading of the Conscription Bill, Sir R. Borden eaid that 1,500,000 men were available for military'service, of whom 760.000 were single men between the ages of 20 and 34. The men available numbered <H)0,000. No new principle was involved.' The Canadian Militia Act> covered the precise ground, except that Jt involved balloting. The present method was fairer as regards the economic frifare of the country.
