THE ARMY'S REVOLT. CONFLICTING STATEMENTS. Received June 20,-6 .m. - < Madrid, June 19. A delayed despatch reveals that the King sent; General Marina to suppress* the army's committee of defence at Barcelona, which demanded better conditions and the remedying of the chronic discontent in the army. The committee presented an ultimatum demanding, within twelve hours, the release of its arrested leaders, coupled with official recognition of and sanction for the committee. Con- , fidential advice was telegraphed to the King that practically the entire armywas defying the authorities, and demanding immediate satisfaction. Received June 20, 6.15 p.m. London, June 10. The Foreign Minister instructed the Spanish Ambassador to categorically deny the statements that Spain was passing through a revolutionary crisis. Madrid, June 19. Senor Dato stateß that the general condition of the country is reassuring.
