Prices were good, and everything was sold. Three-year-old steers £l2 ss, store cows £7 as to £S 2s, wcaners £2 ss. The cattle on account of Mr. A. H. Stevenson sold as'follows: Fat and forward cows £ll to £ll lis, store cows £7 to £8 10s, empty heifers £5 9s, in-calf heifers £8 10s to £9 7s Cd, weaner heifers £4, store lambs 20s. Manaia—Fat cows sold at from £l2 to £l2 17s fld, fresh conditioned cows £lO to £ll ss, forward cows £8 10s to £9 15s, store cows £5 19s to" £8 Bs, bull £7 12s 6d, weaner heifers £2 to £4 3s, mi.ved weaners £3 to £3 12s Bd. Sundries sold at ruling prices. At Stratford yards on Tuesday there was a' fair yarding, and prices w'ere the same as late sale. Dairy cows sold at from £S to £ls 10s, averaging £lO 19s, store cows' £0 5s to £B, forward cows £8 to £lO 10s, weaner steers £3 10s to £4, weaner heifers £2 10s to £3, ewes 18s, cull ewes 7s. On Wednesday, at our Inglewood yards, there was-a-small yarding of stock, and competition was not too keen.i Fat cows sold at from £lO 10s to £l2, forward cows £8 to £9 10s, store cows £0 10s to £7 17s 6d, weaner heifers £2 18s to £3, weaner steers £3 6s to £5 8s 6d, small in-calf heifers £6 2s Cd to £6 las. Otakeho.—We held a clearing sale of Mr. H, Smith's live and dead stock. 'Dairy cows sold at from £ls to £2O for the best, others £7 to £l4, averaging £l2 6s. Sundries and household furniture sold at ruling rates. At Lowgarth on Friday we held a clearing sale of Mr. B. Bulmer's live and dead stock. There was a large attendance, and a most successful sale -was held. The best dairy cows sold at from £l2 10s to £l7 10s, others £8 5s to £l2, bull 36J4 guineas, horses £lO 15s to £3l 10s. 'Farm implements and sundries also sold well. N.Z. LOAN AND MERCANTILE CO.'S REPORT. The N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Co., Ltd., Hawera branch, report as follows: Kakaramea.—Prime cows r £ll to £l2 Bs, forward conditioned cows £9 13s to '£lo 7s 6d, store cows £5 to '£7, cows and calves weaner heifers £2 lis, 15 to 18-month heifers in calf £5 to £0 10s 6d, pigs (slips) 8s to 10s. We also held a clearing sale of dairy cows on account of Mr. G. H. Heal. There was a large attendance of buyers, prices being as follows: Forward springers £0 10s to £lO, late calvers £6 15s to £7, the herd of 24 averaging £7 13s. Eltham.—Cows (forward) £S 16s to £lO 10s, backward cows £0 3s to £8 10s, dairy cows £lO to £lO 15s, good conditioned 3-year heifers £l3 10s, medium £8 ss. On the same day we also held a clearing sale of dairy cows, horses, implements, jetcj There was'a large attendance of buyers. Prices were: Good conditioned springers £l3 to £lO, medium condition £lO to £ll 10s, backward calvera £7 5s to £8 15s, sows and litters £1 10s to £3; the herd of cows averaged £fo 16s 9d. Hawera.—Prime cows £lO 10s to £l3 16s, forward cows £8 10s to £9 3s, potters £2 10s to £4, weaner heifers £1 16s to £2 10s, good conditioned dairy heifers £lO 15s, forward conditioned ewes 17s toJBs, 4 and 6-tooth wethers in good condition 38s. We also held a clearing sale of dairy cows, horses, implements, etc., on account of Mr. C. J. Jeffries, Hawera. Prices were as follows: Sows with litters £1 6s to' £3 ss, forward stores £1 8s to £2 Is, the bidding for pigs being very keen; gootl conditioned 3-year August calvers £lO to £l2 15s, medium conditioned springers £7 15s to '£B 10s, the herd of 25 averaging £9 13s 6d.
