THE WINTER SHOW.
THE CONCLUDING DAY. Boisterous weather conditions prevailed "for the concluding day of the Winter Show at the Coronation Hall, nevertheless there was a good attendance both throughout the day and evening. The attendance throughout, though not up to that of last year, was very satisfactory considering the weather that prevailed and the fact that the cessation of rail way privileges in the shape of excursion fares and delayed trains precluded country people from attending as freely as usual. Tlie president (Mr. J. S. Connett), and the members of the executive, who worked so hard to ensure the success of the show, should feel gratified at. the. results achieved in the face of adverse conditions. A word of praise is also due to the acting-secre-tary (Mr. W. P. OkcyJ &<id his assistant (Mr. Morgan) for the completeness of the arrangements.
During Saturday evening the Citizen's Band under the baton of Mr. F. W. G. McLeod, again rendered a programme of music, which was well received, the music, throughout the show was a feature of the eveliings.
A sale of produce, etc., was held dining Saturday evening by Mr. C. Fair' brother.
The Art Union was decided during the'evening, tho result being as follows: No. 215, E. Hellier, Lcpperton; 197, G. Pigott, Ureimi; 4&>, Jas. Macfarlane, Waitnra; 374, S. Teed, New Plymouth. In the weight estimating competition, the correct', live weight of the cow was G(i3%lbs and Messrs. Albert Richards 663J1b3 arid John Fuidlay, 6641b5, divide first and second prize money.
