A London cable states that Lord Rhondda has been appointed Food Controller. Among those reported wounded appear the name of Captain W. F. Narbey, formerly of Eltliam. Mr. W. Jenkinson lias received cable advice that his son, Private W. H. Jenkinson, of the Bth Reinforcements, has been wounded, and is in London. Second-Lieut. Jago, of the New Zealand Camel Corps, and son of Mr. J. Jago, of Waitotara, has been reported "slightly wounded, remaining with unit." Mr. Geo. Capper, of Ifaimata, has received word that his son, Sergt. James Capper, who left with tho Main Body, has been promoted to Sergeant-Jfajor. Word has been received that. Lieut. D. A. Lusk, of Oaonui, who is attached to the Imperial Camel Corps, is returning to New Zealand permanently'unfit. Ho received a gunshot wound in the chest at Gaza. Yesterday, at Maranui, the residence of the proprietor of the Daily News, there was a gathering of members of the News staff to farewell Private George "List, of the 28th Reinforcements, and for many years a valued member of the News staff, who is shortly leaving for the front as a unit of the ambulance section. Private List was presented by the staff 'With a case of ebony military hair brushes and a wallet and heartily wished Godspeed and a safe return. Mra T. C. List entertained those present at afternoon. tea. Private List was last night presented by the congregation of Holy Trinity Church, Te Henui, where he- has for some time acted as Lay Reader, with'" an electric torch.
