RURAL WORKERS.
RECONSIDERATION OP OASES IMMINENT. (From Our Own Correspondent). Wellington, June 14. ! A statement regarding the position of rural workers whose appeals have be on adjourned sine die was made at to-day's sitting of the First Wellington Military Service Board by Mr. W. Perry, a member of the Board and a well-known breeder of stud sheep. The reconsideration of these cases, be said, was imminent. Adjourned appeals of First Division men engaged in the dairying industry would be brought up for reView during the coming month, so that they could be dealt with before the opening of the new dairying season. He thought that something would have to be done soon towards bringing up the other suspended rural workers. A point in favor of quick action was that if the appeals were dismissed the men could go into enmp right away. If on the other hand the men were to be retained, it would be well to have the matter settled speedily, so that farmers could make their arrangements lor the coming spring. There seemed to be an impression, added Mr. Perry, that the First Division men whose appeals had been dismissed would be taken into camp en bloc. That certainly 'would not be the case. Various grades of workers were engaged in the primary industries, and the Military Service Boards, with the assistance of the National Efficiency Board, would have to estimate as nearly as possible which were the most valuable of those men from the point of view of maintaining production. It was obvious that some of the men would have to be retained in tho country. ,
