'CLAIM AGAINST HOSPITAL BOARD. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Danenvirke, June 15. ~., The Waipawa Hospital Board yesterday oonnrmed the,terms, agreed on to settle the action brought by Private C. ; Hill, claiming £3OOO compensation for damages allegedly sustained under Xray treatment at Dannevirke Hospital. The (resolution adopted stated that, at the instance of the Government, the board approved of the payment of £I3OO to Hill in full settlement of his claim and costs, half to be pajd by W Government and half by the board. The board disclaimed any liability on' the part of the Government or the board,' its officers or servants, and passed a resolution expressing in the matron and regretting its Inability to make public the details with regard to the matter,
A SCHOONER DAMAGED. Qisborne, June 15. The 'schooner Kaeo experienced the force of the recent storm. Op Monday night at 10 o'clock, when on port tack off Portland, a barque coming in the opposite direction collided and carried away the mizzen rigging, foresail and part of the bridge of the tfaeo. The barque's yards did damage to the hull, not striking, but just grazing the stern. The barque's Identity was not ascertained as the weather was very thick. The crew saw nothing till the towerin? vessel was on the top of them. No words passed between the vesgels.
