WESTERN ATTACK.
SIR DOUGLAS HAIG'S REPORTS COUNTER-ATTACK REPULSED. London, Juno S3. Sir Douglas Haig reports:—We drove off a counter-attack against the positions gained yesterday morning astride the Souchez River. We repulsed raiders north-eastward of and Lavouo We successfully raided eastward pf Lagnicourt, westward of La Bassee, and north-eastward of Neiwe Chapelle. THE WEEK'S CAPTURES. A GOOD HAIJL. The Times' headquarters correspondent stateß that despite the lull wo .continue to annex bits of ground and stretches of trenches. We now hold a line over two thousand yards in advance of the line attacked east of Messines. The whole situation at Messines is satisfactory in the utmost degree. TO HOLD FLANDERS. A NEW UNE BEING CONSTRUCTED. Received June 15, 1 a.m. Amsterdam, June 111 The Germans are using forced and German labor on the construction of a new line behind Dender, eaßt Flanders, to the Scheldt, There are other operations at Wiessant, The military activity indicates that the Germans will do their utmost to retain Flanders.
