THE SUBMARINE CAMPAIGN.
LAST WEEK'S FIGURES. INCREASED LOSSES. Received June 14, 5.5 p.m. London, June 13. The Admiralty's report on the submarine campaign this week gives the following figures:— This Last week. week. Arrivals ........ 2787 2693 Departures 2822 2042 Sunk over IfiOO tons .. 22 15 Sunk under 1600 tons .. 10 3 Unsuccessfully attacked . 23 17 Killing vessels sunk 6 5 A RETROSPECT. The campaign opened on February 1. In the first eighteen days 47 British ships were sunk. Since then the Admiralty has issued a ■weekly statement of the British losses. The following table summarises the losses over the period of 15 weeks covered by the Admiralty statements: —
,Tt will he seen that while the figures lor the week ending June 3 were the lowest since the campaign opened, those for the following week are the highest since May 6.
