DEDUCTION OF PACING.
TARANAKI DISTRICT,
The Taranaki District Racing Committea held a special meeting on Tuesday night to arrunge for the reduction of one-third of the days of racing in the district during the duration of the war. Present: Messrs D. A. Nolan (chairman), W. C. Weston, G. Fraser, W. H. H. Young, A. Alexander, S. Pitt, A. si Tonks, A. Good, J. Gray, B. H. Chaney, After cdnsideration, it was decided that the North Taranaki Hunt meeting be discontinued during the currency of the war, and that Taranaki, Egmont, and Stratford each lose a day's racing for the same period. It was resolved that it be a recommendation to the clubs -within the district that owing to the loss of racing days during the war by the North Taranaki Hunt, the question of rendering financial assistance to maintain the hunt be favorably considered. The actual days to be struck out will be upon by several clubs during the next few days, and will probably be made known by next Tuesday.
