SOLDIERS" FINANCIAL ASSISTI ANCE. A BUSY WARD. Wellington, June 2. The Soldiers' Financial Assistance Board Bat on 19 occasions during May and dealt with 624 applications. Of the number 129 applications -were withdrawn or declined, 91 were deferred for further information from applicants, and grants were made in 404 cases. Meetings were held every night this week and this afternoon. Unfortunately members of reinforcements about to leave New Zealand make application at the last moment, and request immediate attention. Owing to the large number of applications repeived daily, early application should be made direct to the secretary of the Soldiers' 'Financial Assistance Board, Wellington, and full information should be supplied in the application n as regards obligations in connec>";*h which assistance is required.
