THE CAUSE' OF INDIGESTIOX. Much valuable information' may be gleaned from a somewhat lengthy medical report just published. For instance, it is made clear that more than flO per cent, of all cases of indigestion, dyspepsia, etc., are due to the presence of acia in the stomach, and physicians agree that when this fact is realised by the public they will be called upon to treat very few cases of stomach trouble, and the cause of the trouble—the acid in the stomach—tion for this purpose is said to be bisuratecl magnesia, and they advise those who are troubled with almost any form of digestive trouble to obtain a small quantity of this produce from their chemist, and take half-a-teaspoonful in a little water after meals, as this will prevent fermentation and neutralise any acid which may be formed, thus rendering the food easy of digestion. Certain!v this plan seams preferable to dosing the stomach with drugs.
