THE HUNT.
jNORTH TARANAIvI HOUNDS. There was a large attendance of members and friends at the meet of the .North Taranaki hounds on the Waitara properties of Messrs L. Birdling and C. iCnspnr on Thursday, and there were several good runs over carefully sparred country. One kill was effected during the afternoon, just as the hare was a bout ■to escape over a cliff on to the beach. There were several spills, but luckily none were attended with serious results, although the muster, Mr, A. F. Haleombe, had the misfortune to break a rib. At the close of the run Mr. and Mrs. Birdling entertained the members of the Hunt and the visitors, and Mr. Haleombe, in a few appropriate remarks, thaidced them for their kindness in entertaining the Hunt. He aiso thanked Mr. Birdling and Mr. Kaspar for having aiiowed the use of their properties for tho meet.
