ANOTHER SHIPPING COMBINE.
P. & 0. AND 'UNION COMPANIES. Wellington, Last Night. It is announced that an arrangement lias l)een arrived at between the P. and 0. Company and the Union Company for the acquisition of a portion of the lattcr's interests. The arrangement provides for the P. and 0. Company issuing to shareholders of the Union Company 10s worth of their deferred stock and paying £1 10s cash for each Union Company's ordinary share. At the present market price of P and 0. stock this amounts to something over £3 for each Union Company share, while the return per share will be considerably improved.
