I' (From Our Own Correspondent.) Eltham, May 31. Mr. E. Parrott, J.P.. has been nominated for the vacancy on the Eltham Trustees Board, vice Mr. J. L. Weir (resigned). The Boy Scouts intend holding a contort at the end of June. This wiil probably mark the farewell appearance of the scoutmaster, Rev. G. W. Dent, who is leaving Eltham for Wellington. His duties will be taken up by Mr. .1. Smith, who, besides being a returned soldier, has also been a scoutmaster in Britain. The boys will sadly miss the reverend gentleman, who. has taken a keen interest in the lads, and by his enthusiasm greatly revived public interest in the Scouts. The membership of the F.ilham branch of the Phinket Society in now OS and growing. At Inst' meeting ruggp&lion was made that the assistance of several gentlemen should be secured, s> in the near future the membership (and subscriptions) should be increased.
