The feelings of Hie public with regard to the war remain unchanged, as the following incident will prove. A few days ago in one of the hospitals for wounded m Paris a lady of 'high standing during her visit to the hospital approached a German wounded officer, telling him that she wished for him a speecv- recovery, as the Allies would soon make peace, and he would be able to return to his country. These words were overheard by a French wounded officer who was lying nearby, who lifted himself in his bed and shouted that this would never be, nnd the excitement cost hiin bis life. The news of this incident quickly spread in the street, where a crowd gathered, and notwithstanding the protection of the police the carriage of the lady was stoned; and tho windows smashed to pieces. Croup is the most prevalent during tho dry cold weather of the early winter months. Parents of young children should 'be prepared for it. All that is needed is a bottle of Chamberlain's Cough Kemjjdy. Many mothers are never without it in their homes. It is not only a safe and harmless medicine, but the best in use for coughs, colds, nnd £ro«p. Sold everywhere;; y-< •"'
