THE EMPIRE.
LAST NIGHT OF "WORLD AND THE WOMAN." A striking film study, "World and the Woman," was the chief offering at the Empire last evening. Faith healing is the main theme in this remarkable story, and though highly improbable, its introduction will find favor with many, whilst the sceptical will appreciate its charming simplicity and sincerity of purpose. The story is based on the scriptural text, "A little chifl shall lead them," showing bow a little child raised a girl from vice to a life of purity and well-doing. Jeanne Eagles, the heroine, is specially suited to the part of the reclaimed outcast. One of the features of the production is the scenes of splendour and sin amidst the New York cabarets, and the change to the healthy atmosphere of the Adirondack Mountains. TO-MORROW There will be a complete change of programme to-morrow when the popular favorite Carlyle Blackwell, with Ethel Claytor, will appear in the World Film success, "Broken Chains.'
