DOMINION'S PART.

PRISONERS OF WAR. INFORMATION BUREAU ESTABLISHED. FREE POSTAGE OF LETTERS. Wellington, Last Night. The Acting Postmaster-General announces than an information ibureau for prisoners of war has 'been established with the Red Cross Society of the {Portuguese colony of Mozambique, under the title "Delegation Provinciale de la Croix, Rouge. Lourenco Marques." Correspondence despatched through the bureau will be free of postage, but such correspondence must bear as part of the address the words "Delegation Provinciale de la Croix Rouge, qn franchise de port, prisonniers de guerre, Lourenco Marques." A PROPOSAL NOT APPROVED. MINISTER'S VIEWS ON SOLDIERS' CLUBS AND HOSTELS. \ " Wellington, Last Night. [ The Minister of Public Health (Mr. Russell) does not approve of the scheme of the Wellington Patriotic Society to purchase the property of the late John Duthie for the purpose of .establishing a . home for soldiers returning from the E war and suffering from mental afflictions I caused by their war service. He states j that two institutions are already available, entirely outside the mental hospitals, while there are many other uses to which the money of patriotic societies could be devoted. He thinks a large portion of the expenditure that is being devoted to the establishment of soldiers' clubs might with advantage be spettt in more practical directions. As regards soldiers' hostels, there can be no two opinions as to the desirableness of these institutions being evident. iProbably, \ I after the war, tliese may profitably be used for housing soldiers under strict I classification.
